Hi, I hope you can help me to know, what can I do if I have 30 million of rows in a group of flat files and I whant to load this information very quickly with sql*loader. Actually, the load takes 7 hours. And if Oracle have a system table where the loads are registing.

Are you able to use the direct=y parameter?

I load 2 million records in 45 seconds, so 7 hours seems like a lot.

Is this a one time deal, or is it ongoing. You could also consider making the tables and indexes nologging.

If you are calling sql functions from within the control file, that can slow things up too.

I generally load records into holding tables, do whatever data manipulation is required, and then move the records into their destination table. I find that saves a lot of time.
