Hi, there, when I export a flash file, there are some problems.

1. In the original file, there are 120 frame. In the last frame, I put the action: gotoAndPlay (110). It works fine when exported as "swf" or "exe" format. But when I export it as "GIF" format, the movie played only once from frame (120) to (110). After that, it play all over again from frame(1) . How can I fix that??

2. I want to set the background transparent before I begin to design the movie. Is there any way? when I export my movie as GIF format, in publish settings, I checked transparent. But the graphic lost a lot of colors, which is terrible.

Please help.. Thank you !!

You're trying to have your gif behave as if it was a Flash movie... Sorry but don't think that will work!

As for your color problem... Think your should export as some type of sequence (Export)... And possibly use some gif contruction kit to output your final gif.

To get rid of the thing playing more than once, you can get a gif editor, and select for it to play once...I dont know if flash has that exporting option...(dont remember the name of the option either)...also, the transparency thing, it is based on 1 color...maybe you should set the background as some horrid color, then get a gif editor, and use the 'select transparent color' option...and select that horrid color...so it shouldn't affect anything else... ----------------------------------------

Luke,
If you're going to basicly just repeat what I posted, maybe you have too much time on your hands and you should spend a little more of it on your love letters to kitten.
Guess that would also please Carl!

Sounds like it is a must to get a gif editor... Thank you very much!!

There is also an option in the publish settings to have the gif repeat a certian number of times...set it to 1...I was just checking it out... ----------------------------------------

Oh, I see...

I tried, and it still didn't work. My question is :

"In the original file, there are 120 frame. In the last frame, I put the action: gotoAndPlay (110). But when I export it as "GIF" format, the movie played only once from frame (120) to (110). After that, it play all over again from frame(1). "

How can I make GIF movie play from 110 to 120 over and over again after playing once??

Thanks!!

Hi, Whitetiger,

I just know that the frame action is not exported in a gif movie.. so it looks this is how it works.

Thank you very much for your help!!

Your not going to do it...GIF's aren't FLASH...they dont have anything special at all

Basically just play over and over again...that's it. No special commands, no nothing....no skipping to and from frames, or anything like that...sorry, but no can do...

WHY are you using a GIF anyhow?...why not just use FLASH? ----------------------------------------

Yeah.. that's a good question. We are going to do a powerpoint presentation, and I want to insert my flash movie as a logo. Is GIF the only way??

Thank you!

Seems to me you can insert a Flash movie in Powerpoint!
Search the forum with powerpoint! There were a few threads on the subject a few weeks back!

cool :)
i like the background when it's blue (portfolio) but still prefer your new one's backdrop! ^-^
hey, with your new one's mini-graphic equaliser, is that moving with the actual sound output or is it just a random movie clip?
thanks :) Seeya!

random clip..you can do it with action script but haven't made it that far yet..after i get the site up and running all the way i will go back in and tweek things like that..
