About APP Server and Web Server

Hi guys!

I am new to Weblogic.Is there a separate APP server, web server and Admin Server in web logic. What is the one we see on console...ie.,

http://localhost:7001/console...

Please let me know

There can be a separate app server and admin server, and I guess you could make one of the app servers a "web server" by making it your proxy or something. The admin server's job is basically to serve the config.xml, security realms, and other configuration information to the "managed" servers in the domain. The managed servers are generally the ones that do the work. You can also make a domain with just one standalone server that does everything.
