Hi there...I'm wondering if it is possible to have a forwarded call be deposited into the voicemail box of the user where the call was forwarded to and not to the original number? I'm trying forwarding via cover paths and the "Enhanced Call Forwarding" but each time the call goes back to the voicemail box of the original number. Does anyone know if this is possible via these methods or another way?

Example: we are forwarding extension 8500 (who is no longer with the company) to extension 9000. However, if the voicemail system picks up, it always goes to the voicemail box of 8500 and not 9000.

Thank you.

Not sure if Call forwarding vs cover paths would help. But the way I would tackle that is to add incoming digit treatment entries for that number on the inbound trunk.

So when call comes in for extension A it deletes that and sends the call to extension B.

This wont help for internal calls but people internal I would expect to know that person is no longer with the company.

Another alternative is to change CPN (change public-unknown trunk X) for the outbound call to Voice mail for that extension. Delete the CPN of the original extension and replace it with the second extension.

depending on what voicemail you have, tou can make 8500 be a secondary mailbox of 9000. that way when the call covers to vm, it will go to the same mailbox no matter what number was called.

or, the way i normally handle this is to forward the call off-net to the destination number. that way it will go to forwarded to numbers vm everytime, and i dont have to monley around with mailboxes.

thanks, tim
