Hello:

I will try to explain this the best I can:

One of our computers had a hardware problem last week.
They reinstalled the modem software.
Seems that ever since then we can only transmit out
and not recieve any incoming.

I checked all the setting and they look ok.
The host script has not been changed 3-4-04, in fact nothing has been changed since then.

I am at a loss!!!

Try taking the host script out of the loop for now. If you enable the Options | Answer Options | Procomm Plus Answers Calls and Options | Answer Options | Data menu items, can you call in from another computer and connect successfully?

I tried what you asked and yes I can dial in from another computer but the keyboard does nothing on the computer that is dialing in.
Then I put the receiving into host mode and dialed in again and the still was locked up.

I also noticed that the 'ProCom Plus Ready!' appears twice on the problem computer. It only use to appear once.

Thanks

So when you dial in from another computer without using the host script, you cannot send characters in either direction?

Try renaming the file pw5.prm in your main Procomm directory, then run Procomm. This will create a new parameter file (which holds many Procomm settings). It's possible the reinstall of the modem driver may have thrown Procomm for a loop, especially if the modem's name is slightly different (updated driver, for example).

That did it!!!!!!!!!!!

Know for another hopefully easy question:

Is the computer that is in host suppose to display the same screen that the dialing in computer has?

What I mean is that I see on the host computer whatever the person is doing on the dialed in computer.

I don't seem to remember the host computer doing that.

Thanks again for help.

I'm not in a position to test this at the moment, but I think that the computer running the host script will show roughly the same display as what the calling user will see on their screen. This gives a way for the host operator (for example, if you were running it as a simple BBS) to monitor what is being done on the system.
