I currently am having nightmares with my computer. I have a ABIT KT7 mobo with AMD Thunderbird 800MHz, 256M RAM. The system will lock up or shutdown at random places during bootup. Some times it gets to WINDOWS 2K, other times it won't even make it to Memory Check. If it does get to WINDOWS, it gives me a blue screen with either a PAGE_FAULT error, OR KMODE_EXCEPTION error. I have nothing connected at the moment besides my video card, hard drive, and floppy drive. I did update the BIOS to the most recent version. I haven't altered any of the BIOS settings yet. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Once the system reaches the blue screen take down the 0X..
number at the top of the screen and logon to the microsoft site. Enter this number into their knowledge base and a list of possible causes will appear. The bad news is that if its hanging all over the place and giving page fault errors you could have a problem with 1 of the memory modules installed

could try going into bios and set the failsafe defaults. If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.
