The problem is that I'm very new to postfix. I can send amil and receive mail fine from my local home network. Unfortunately when I fo to work I loose tha ability to use it as a sendmail server. I have a fixed hostname when I'm at work. How can I set the postfix daemon to allow me to use it when I'm at work. Thanks

If you your machine at work has a static public IP address then you can add that address to the "mynetworks" variable and it should allow it. If you are behind NAT at work then you will need to find that NAT address and add it to the "mynetworks" variable.

We dont' have fixed IP addresses here however we do have fixed DNS names. Is there a way to do the mynetworks solution with DN names instead of IP addresses.

Be careful not to turn your postfix into an "open-relay".
If you do, your isp will prolly cut off your connection quite quickly. Its not tolerated.
