Hi all hopefully someone could assist me with this.

I'm currently learning Clarion for a new job, Im using ABC templates wheras my colegues are experienced in Legacy templates.

I need to produce a report that firstly lists an Item from a TPS table and then lists all related items in another TPS table linked by a key.

I need to find out what the ABC equivalent of Before Print Detail Section and After Print Detail Section Legacy Embed points.

tanks for any help in advance....

Norm. :)

Norm,

The easiest way for you to find your way into which embed to use is to use the SOURCE button in the embeditor. This will show you all the embed points. Press Alt-F3 and search for the PRINT command and use the embeds around it.

In ABC, the embed shoulb be in ThisReport.TakeRecord. ThisReport is the ProcessClass object. Please be warned that there are two TakeRecord methods, one in ThisReport (ProcessClass) and another in ThisWindow (ReportManager). Use the TakeRecord method of the Process Class.

On the taskbar of your embeditor you will find a button in red and yellow shaped like a T. Turning this on will show you all the Legacy Embed points as well.

You can go to and download the Learning ABC book (LearnABC.pdf).

Thanks for that Shankar I will have a look at the ABC embed points today - however I did find the button to turn on the legacy embed points so I started to use that. Thanks for the Advice - I'm sure I will become a regular on this forum from now on.

Normm.
