Hi, everyone!
I've been creating queries in the IDES system and have run into something strange that I hope someone can help me with. Note: We're running 4.6c.
Basically, when I run the same query on an InfoSet (based on a logical database) I get different record counts depending on which organizational unit field I use on the selection screen. But I'm using the same value for the organizational unit field.
Below, I've listed what I've done in the hopes that someone may be able to help me figure out what is going on. I hope it makes sense.
In IDES, using the "Local query area":
1) Create an Info Set (transaction SQ02) using logical database PNP.
a) Select the following Info Types and use the default field groups:
* 0000 – Actions
* 0001 – Organizational Assignment
* 0002 – Personal Data
* 0006 - Addresses
* 0105 - Communication
b) Generate and save. My InfoSet is called “ZTEST_02”.
c) Assign to user group Z3.
2) Create query, ZTEST_PNP, using InfoSet ZTEST_02. (Transaction SQ01)
a) Select fields (for output to screen):
Actions field group:
* Personnel number
* Textersonnel number
* Leaving date
* Entry date
Organizational Assignment field group:
* Organizational key
* Text:Organizational key
* Organizational unit
* Text:Organizational unit
b) Selection fields:
* Organizational unit
c) Run query.
3) At selection screen:
a) Period:
* Select “Up To Today” radiobutton.
b) Selection:
* Use “Further selections” button to select “Organizational unit” so it appears on selection screen.
* Enter organizational unit “50010279”.
c) Program selections:
* Leave organizational unit blank.
d) Execute query.
I see 16 records. Personnel numbers: 00010006, 00010050, 0010301, and 0010304 are listed twice with organizational unit numbers other than "50010279".
(4) Run the query again, but this time put the organizational unit number in the “Program selections” section instead of the “Selections” section.
I get 12 records this time.
5) If you run the query yet again, but this time use the “Organizational structure” button instead of the different sections on the screen.
The org unit “50010279” is located under: IDES AG --> Executive Board – USA --> Operations and Sales (US) --> Technical Service (US) --> TS, Hardware Maintenance – (US) --> Technical Service, West – (US)
a) When you locate it, select it and continue (enter).
b) Then run the query.
I see 7 records this time. Why am I getting different record counts for the same org unit on the same screen for the same query?
Note: I've been told that we have all the updates in IDES.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rebecca
