Hello all.

I'm very familiar with Nortel Norstar and Meridian, as well as Definity and Magix/Legend. However, the Partner is a whole different animal altogether.

I've found the programming much harder to understand, and somewhat cumbersome. Plus, the GUI-based software doesn't allow you to backup things like Auto-Line Selection (major disappointment).

Well, after fumbling my way through the documentation for both the system and the Partner Messaging Flash Card, I've got everything set up EXCEPT a major problem.

Here's what I'm trying to do:

I've got a Partner ACS 3.0 and the Partner Messagage 3.0 Large Flash Card installed.

Calls ring in to all phones for 4 rings, then the Auto Attendant answers. Option 1 transfers to extension 11. Other options go to other extensions but they all have the same problem. I'll use Extension 11 as my example.

Extension 11 is set to Auto VMS Coverage after 4 rings.

Here's what wierd. If I call extension 11 directly from any phone, it goes to 11's VM after 4 rings. However, if its a transferred call (either from the AA, or another station) the call rings 4 times, then goes silent (and the line indicator goes red-wink). Its not ringing anywhere.

Obviously since every other setting works (the AA, and VM Coverage when called directly) I believe I've got everything else set up correctly. Ext's 78 & 79 are in HG 7 and 8. Line 1's Hunt Settings are correct for DAY and NIGHT.

Any thoughts?

Kris

I made a mistake. They are only a member of HG 7. I've done 2 tests as well with Xfer Return. First, I set it to 2 rings. It still rings those 4 rings before "disappearing". I currently have XFER Return at 6 rings because I really don't want VM to use it.

I've tried having XFER Return Extension for 78 and 79 set to 10 and 79/78 respectively. The call never bounces back.

Wierd huh?

Well, I didn't exactly figure it out, but its fixed.

My initial programming of the system was done with the ACS GUI-based software, then uploaded to the system. For the heck of it, I did a F989 to reset to factory defaults. Didn't know the password, but fortunately it displays the valid digits as you go. Anyway, reprogrammed using only the phone and now it works fine.

I guess it was corruption.

I can't take credit for the ideal though. I was fumbling through the threads and someone had made a comment about how they'd seen some "pretty strange things" that could only be attributed to database corruption, so I thought I'd give it a try.
