Hey there folks--

We have a very old Access97 db which prints out to 6.5"Wx4.5"H forms on dot-matrix printers. We have three stations setup printing to Okidatas, but now "they" want a new station set up - and we only have Epsons available. So I'm trying to reformat the reports to print to the Epson instead.

I've created a 6.5"x4.5" custom form thru WinXP's print server. I've selected the Epson as the "Print to selected printer" and I've specified the custom form as the paper and selected the tractor feed as the paper source.

The report is in three sections: header, detail, footer. And herein is the problem -- I cannot, for the life of me, get the section heights to print consistently! The closest I've gotten had the final line of the footer printing where it was supposed to, but it needed an extra 1/8" to line up to the next form correctly. So I added 1/8" to the footer, and suddenly the header jumps up by 1/4"! So I try taking the 1/8" off the footer and adding it to the top of the header.. that pushes the header down 1/4" and the footer jumps up 1/2"!

I've gone thru about 50 pages, trying different things and have yet to figure out some sort of reasoning behind these odd moves. Can anyone shed some light on how the 97 report writer works? Any thoughts on why things are so inconsistent? Please?? [sadeyes]

thanks

If they are standard forms, try recreating the report using label wizard!
