Im getting ready to take our new WSS3.0 intranet site live and have setup an AAM. When using the new AAM users are required to supply their user/pass. When using the server name no sign in was required.

> logs on with no interaction from the users

> Users must supply their user/pass in the format "domain.net/username".

Is this by design? Is there a work around? Have I done something screwy? Even if I could get working so that only the username is required and not the domain it would be a start.

Intranet Zone did the trick.

Added these to my GPO under Comp Config/Admin Temp/IE/Internet control panel/security page: Site to Zonw Assignment list
