My customer has a partner ACS R7 with partner messaging. We are unable to get the night message of the AA to play (AA is set to switch mode) when the night service button on ext 10 is pressed? I was able to get the night message to play using the scheduler.

Any feedback would be great... Thanks

make sure that the night button is really the night button (#503) and not the DND button.

Naw, not DnD. I programmed it through PC Administration.

Still, at the phone do Feature 00 and press the button to confirm that it shows as Night Service.

In the Schedule Controller for the Auto Attendant, be sure it is set to Follow Switch Mode. Make sure the lines are assigned to the Auto Attendant, and that one of the other 3 is not answering and confusing the issue.

Make sure that only the VM ports are in the Hunt Group. The system uses the 1st VM port, and the lowest numbered extension in the Hunt Group to communicate the Day/Night status. If you accidentally have an errant lower extension number in the group, it won't get that status or the correct time and date.

Tommy,

You stated I need to assign the lines to the AA? That step I think hasnt been programmed. Where does that need to be programmed?

Thanks

just to recap if the day AA picks up you are good for the line assignement and if you are in night service and the day greeting plays you are good for the scheduler in the phone system, so the problem is with the voicemail and it's inability to know when the night service is on.
Assigning lines to the AA means that the lines are either assigned to AA 1 (in the voicemail programming) or at least not to another AA because by default they follow AA 1 but it will not hurt doing it.

So Westi,

Do you think It may be a software conflict?

The lines are assigned to the Auto Attendants in #206-7, but which auto attendant answers is set in option 6 under each auto attendant in the System Administrator's mailbox. Lines not assigned to AA 2, 3, or 4 will be answered by AA-1. I would check the line assignments in AA 2, 3, and 4.

It could also be the VMS Hunt Schedule(#507)is only programmed to answer during the day. When the Night button is pressed, there is no coverage.

All lines in the switch are set to VMS AA and scheduled at always. The lines are also assigned to AA 1 in the Voice Mail. I double checked the night button (#503) and it appears to be programmed correctly.

Is the night button supposed to flash the green indicator light on its programmed button when activated?

Thanks for all the help!!!!!

If the Night Service button is flashing, you have set a system password in #403.

You're not in Night Service until you dial the password, and the light turns solid green.

You also need the password to go back to day mode.

Don't give all the information, and it's hard to get the right answer.

So, is there a way to use the night service button without a password? Its been awhile since I put one of these systems in and I don't recall using a password to go in an out of night service before.

Thanks TTT

Yes, just remove the system password in #403. You may have put it there, thinking of #730, the programming password.

The only other thing you normally use the system password for is to override toll restriction, by pressing Hold and dialing the system password before accessing a line.
