Hi All.

I've searched through the forums and have found where this has been discussed, but not in detail enough to where I understand.

First off, Magix System, Hybrid/PBX Mode. Merlin Messaging as well.

I'm interested in setting up an automated attendant at night with prompts for callers to be immediately transfered to emergency 800 numbers for our various carriers that our business deals with.

I have roughly 20 numbers that I would like to be able to transfer to.

So far, I've found where to set a particular adjunct to be "RCF enabled", but I'm lost from there. What steps would I need to take to enter in the 800 number to dial? Also, I'm thinking I'd need a seperate adjunct for each 800 number. Am I correct?

Thanks very much in advance.

Bryan

Thanks TTT...I always seem to jump at posting; I just managed to find the same instructions under thread689-1441099.

I'll give this a try tomorrow.

Cool! Keep in mind, that since it will be the Auto Attendant doing the transfers, you will also need to go to the Extensions menu, and UnRestrict, raise the FRL to 3, allow Trunk to Trunk, and allow RCF for each of the voice mail ports.

So far, I've followed the instructions for "creating an extension for remote", and set up a test (fowarding to my cell phone) by renumbering adjunct 7303 to extension 303, and fowarding it on. It works!!! (Thanks TTT).

Now, I'm wondering exactly how many adjucts I have.

On a print of my extension directory, along the 412TDL ports, I have 7300-7311, with 7300-7302 being utilized for networking and voicemail. 7303-7311 (9 adjuncts) are available. I need a few more.

On an "ALL" printout, I see in the System Dial Plan where adjuct numbers correlate to extensions, and I have up to 200 adjuncts. Is it OK to just pick any unused adjunct number that doesn't correlate? For example, could I just use the ending 20 adjuncts, since they are not setup?:

A ID #:181 7280 7480 ID #:182 7281 7481
A ID #:183 7282 7482 ID #:184 7283 7483
A ID #:185 7284 7484 ID #:186 7285 7485
A ID #:187 7286 7486 ID #:188 7287 7487
A ID #:189 7288 7488 ID #:190 7289 7489
A ID #:191 7290 7490 ID #:192 7291 7491
A ID #:193 7292 7492 ID #:194 7293 7493
A ID #:195 7294 7494 ID #:196 7295 7495

Sorry for all the "noob" questions. Everyone here has always been a great help. I sincerely appreciate it.

Sorry, one more thought...

Would I also have to enable Trunk-to-Trunk and RCF for the adjunct numbers as well? My mind says yes, but just want to be sure.

You have as many "adjuncts" - as you have "digital" extention ports in your system (412 TDL ports, 024 TDL ports, and/or MLX ports). And yes - the adjuncts have to be authorized for RCF and trunk-transfer - AND - under lines/trunks, TT/LS/Disc - make sure LS Disconnect is set to "yes".

Thanks Tom.

Under my Trunk Information, I see RelDisc is set to YES for all GS/LS Trunks.

I think I'm getting confused between "stations" and "adjuncts" when looking at my output from PRINT. We have one 412TDL card:

A STN #: 1 110 KIM STN #: 2 199 GRPCALL
A STN #: 3 7101 STN #: 4 198 MIDLAND
A STN #: 5 7102 STN #: 6 197 MID VM
A STN #: 7 7103 STN #: 8 7303
A STN #: 9 7104 STN #: 10 7304
A STN #: 11 7105 STN #: 12 7305
A STN #: 13 7106 STN #: 14 7306
A STN #: 15 7107 STN #: 16 7307
A STN #: 17 7108 STN #: 18 7308
A STN #: 19 7109 STN #: 20 7309
A STN #: 21 7110 STN #: 22 7310
A STN #: 23 7111 STN #: 24 7311

So, am I correct in that I can only use 7303-7311 as the extensions to setup RCF, since these are the only "adjuncts" I have available?

I can't use 7101-7111 because these are physical "ports" available for phones?

The second set of data in the above post is "Complete Dial Plan for Stations and Adjuncts

Ahhh...I think I'm getting it now.

These adjuncts "link" to extensions? For example, in my printouts above, STN 1 is assigned the adjuct under STN 2.

So, Extension 7111 goes along with Adjunct 7311.

So I guess then, I only have these few adjuncts (9) available to use as RCF extensions.

Am I way off here? LOL

Thanks Tom. Seems like I'm only messing with the phone system every 3 months or so, and when I sit down at it, I draw a blank. After snooping around for an hour or so, it all comes back.

I'll test out our new night menu tonight. I was also able to "borrow" some extensions from unused merlin messaging ports (only have a 6-port card), and forward those extensions to the remaining numbers I had.

Thanks again Tom and TouchToneTommy.

with the merlin legend you can add phantom cards to add phantom extensions\adjuncts. on the main menu under boards add another 412 or a 024 tdl module. but warning do not perform a board renumber you will lose your ohantom boards. so perform your manual backups

Many thanks again! This works exactly how we wanted!!!

I was looking into the possibility of adding another board for more phantoms; until I figured out I could just "borrow" a few unused extensions. Should we ever need more, I'll look into a 024TDL.

There's only one issue I'm having with the Night Service, but that's for a new thread (after doing some searching, of course). ;)

no actual physical 024 board is needed. It is a "Phantom board" non existant.as you need nonexistant ports you can add non existant boards. no need to purchase boards. just do not perform board renumber if you do Merlin will figure out there really is no board and will delete "phantom board".

Hrmm...no kidding?

That may explain why our satellite office's Merlin has a few boards that are listed, however display the notation "Board Not Found". Maybe they were used for this purpose at one time.

Thanks for the info merlinczar...I'll have to give that a whirl.
