Hi,

I have an A7N8X-X MB and am having trouble with the onboard sound.

I have the FPA connectors hooked up to the MB, and sound works fine when I connect either speakers or headphones to the front, but I can't get any sound out of the headphone/line out connector on the back (MB jack).

I have tried disconnecting the FPA connector from the motherboard (thinking that it may have been causing a conflict) but I still get no sound from the rear jack even when I do this.

I have installed the latest drivers from Realtek and then tried the latest nForce audio driver - no change.

can anyone please help?

thanks
Adam

Have you tried looking at the FPA manufacturer's website?

By the way, what is an FPA?? is that a connection that is supposed to allow you to be able to use the front audio ports and rear audio ports without physically switching any wires around, somewhat like the modern Dell pc's?

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 KJV

yep - FPA = front panel audio. anyways, this problem is now solved.

For anyone alse having this problem" the line_out_R pin needs to be jumpered to the b_line_out_R pin, and the line_out_L pin needs to be jumpered to the b_line_out_L pin (these are the FPA pins on the motherboard) - apparently this is the 'factory default' setting. For more info see the MB manual for the a7v8x MB (this is essentially the same MB, but built around the Via chipset)
