Hi,

Hi, I bought the board and assembled the PC this week ... looks good :)

Only problem I have is with the onboard sound driver - Win 98 SE and 2K both tend to hang up very shortly after starting a game (tried NFS5, Commandos2 so far) ... any ideas???

Tried the MS q242937 hotfix, didn't solve the problem.

On the ASUS page there are no drivers to download yet.

Any ideas anybody

yours, Andy

Problem solved ...

I had accidentally overclocked the chip ... as it's an XP 1600 unit, I set the FSB to 150 to get a 1570 MHZ CPU speed. (That'd be an XP 1800 unit then ;))

... 146 works just fine ...

I had the same problem with the onboard sound. The only way I found to fix it was to disable the sound and get a PCI soundcard. Appearantly, ASUS hasn't quite gotten the on board sound taken care of yet. if you use any other PCI soundcard, you will be able to get sound in your games
