Hi guys,

I am using windows xp pro. I am loging in as Adminstrator.

However, i was wondering if there is a way to hide some of the drives that i down't want to share with other users while loging in? I have set up the log in for the other users as USERS.

Any tip will be helpful.

regards

RA

I'm not sure that you can hide them from the other users but you can certainly setup the security on the drives to only allow you, the admin access to the drives.

I assume you are talking about local drives?

Hi Talented,

That is correct i am talking about local drives. I have a shared PC with multiple HDS. Basically, when i want other users loging in they don't have access to other drives except c drive.

What security settings you are talking about?

Is there anyways to write some log in script to do it?

How can i map drives / folders?

Thanks Bcastner,

but this something that will hide the drives even for Adminstrator, am i correct?

I want to hide the drives only if i log in as user or guest but if i log in as admin then the drives should be shown ...

possible?

Hi BCastner,

I believe it is still for all including the Admin, User, Guest because there is nothing specific, basically just modifying the registery?

Am i correct.

Thanks for the info ...

You are modifying the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER, which is specific to each user.

that definitely worked!! i am giving u a *star* for it!
many thanksss
