Hi, I'm having a bit of an issue with a JS/HTML page that I can't think of any solution to. Basically the way this page is designed (I can't post a link to it as its not online), it has a lot of form elements in a small area.

Now, in Firefox when you highlight text it highlights text and images, but that is about it. But IE highlights just about anything (form elements, etc.) and this is causing some user annoyance in my page.

The only thing I found was a Javascript or DHTML trick that turns off highlighting completely for the body of the page, which would probalby work, except that I need to be able to highlight within textboxes.

Does anyone have any ideas of any way to accomplish something like this?

Thanks,
Graeme

You must have a pretty solid app if that's the only thing the users can find to complain about....

I'd just tell em to get over it. That's a silly thing to complain about.

And to answer your question - that is built in browser behavior. I'd say it falls into the category of "how do I disable the back button" of which the answer is - you can't.

Thanks for your reply.

Lol well it's definately a minor issue, but the way this thing was designed, it is more of an annoyance than the standard web page.

I will just leave it if there is no good solution, it's not a big deal, I just figured that it couldn't hurt to ask.

And I realize it's the browser's behaviour, but sometimes Javascript can get around it. Like I can turn off highlighting, it's just this goes to far.
