hi,

is there a unix ide for scripts that allows debugging, tracing, variable watch?
 
Take a look at the set builtin in your shell man page for -v, -x, -e, ...

Indeed, set -xv gives a good output for debugging within a script

But that's hardly an IDE. The best I can come up with is using the Emacs "Grand Unified Debugger".
