I have a simple question on upgrading from Exchange5.5 to Exchange2000. I understand the Exchange2000 requires Active Directory to run. Right now in our office, we're in the process of upgrading our Windows NT4 to Windows2000 with AD, but running in a Mixed Mode environment.

The question is that can we have Exchange 2000 servers running in this Mixed Mode environment, or does it have to be in a purely Native Mode? The Exchange2000 servers will be new and will be installed on new Windows 2000 servers in the new AD domain.

Any feedback is welcome.

Not a problem to run the Exchange servers in mixed mode. When you're done migrating your NT4 servers to W2K and are *sure* you won't need any more NT4 systems (as Domain Controllers), then switch to Native mode and you're all set.
