What do I do about this. I can't loose the install on this server. I have the data backed up.

This is the error I'm getting.

A SCSI peripheral Failed to report completion status in time (cha N05) Notice: cha: SCSI command timed out ha=0 id=0 lun=0 cmd=2A blk=5069230 len=16384.

The blk and len change everytime its displayed. It outputs enough times to fill the screen.

Some one please help
Thanks,
aaron

Sounds like a hard drive is losing ready. (dead or will be shortly)

My first instinct would be to take the system down and let it cool off, then bring it back up when I had cooling in place. Suspect that you will have problems in closing it and may have to power crash it.

If you are lucky it will go down and come back up OK. If not so lucky it may have to clean itself. If "buzzard luck" the drive may never come back up.

So it is most likely a hardware problem with the hard drive?

So if i can shut it down and ghost it onto a new drive I should be ok?

I have shut it down already and it came back up.

thanks for your help

Great! Problem solved. I was able to shut the drive down and use Norton Ghost to copy the drive to a backup drive. I don't get the error anymore when copying large files or any files for that matter.

Thanks for your quick response edfair.
