After creating a formula, and doing a sucessful syntax check, I get the below when I try to Save the formula:

"A runing total cannot refer to a print time formula
Details:mad:CompleteNot"

What does this message mean? Is there a way around it?

Mel

It means that your running total is in some way based on a value that is not calculated at the time that the running total needs to use it.
Different types of formulas or totals in CR are calculated at different stages of the report creation process. Look at 'report processing model' in Help.

If you describe the running total, share the content of the formula as well and a little about the report structure, and explain what you're trying to do, someone can probably give more specific help.

Thank you lupins46 and lbass for the valuable posts. You helped me understand why I was getting the error message. I used a different Formula and that solved the problem. A million thanks!
