I am completely new to enterprise. I am using V9. I am to run all reports here (currently on enterprise) but I am to run them without filters. Nobody here knows where the actual reports reside. I don't have access to the Launchpad either. This was done before I got here, but I need to pick it up. The only book I have is 'Special Edition Using Crystal Enterprise 8.5' Can you point me to a place to start? I would really appreciate any assistance you can provide.

what specifically do you need assistance on....the actual location of the reports or how to bring up launchpad?

Both. I am at a complete loss as to where to go or what to do. I read in my book that there is a lot of information I can access that will help me on launchpad. I don't know the configuration of enterprise here, so I don't know if you can point me in a direction of how to access the actual reports. Thanks for responding so quickly!

sclark,

I'm going to make some assumptions:

* You are running CE 9.0
* Administrator password is set to default
* Reports have been published to the system

1. Now check to see if you have Crystal Enterprise folder...go to Start...Programs...Crystal Enterprise 9. You'll find some contents in that folder:

Crystal Configuration Manager (CCM)
Crystal Import Wizard
Crystal Launchpad
Crystal Publishing Wizard

Select the CCM. You should see all your servers listed. All should have a green icon next to them. If so go to the next step.

2. Go to the Crystal Enterprise folder again and select Launhcpad. An html page will launch that has links to ePortfolio and the Crystal Management Console (the web based administration piece of CE). Click on the CMC link. The log in page will be listed. Log in as Administrator....no password. You should see a list of folder/reports listed.

*************************************************
The reports reside in the following directory:

C:/program files/crystal decisions/enterprise 9/filestore

Specifically...when a report is published it resides in the input directory located under filestore. When you run a reort (known as a report instance) it places that instance in the output directory located under filestore as well. Remember when you log into the CCM....you saw a list of reports....click on one of those reports. You'll see a page that has the Report Title....Description...etc. Look for the info located next to File Name. Should look like frs://Input/a_213/067/001/212345/<filename>.rpt

This is where the report resides....in the input directory under filestore (see above for location). You can simply start Crystal Reports 9....drill down to the input directory to the specific directory and open the report. It is quite simple.

If you need more direction...simply reply to this thread.

This is a great place to start. I don't have an enterprise folder in programs. I will have to get access to this.

Thank you for the information. Once I get access (it appears I have access to some things necessary to do this job, but not others) thn I will go to the filestore. I really appreciate your help. Thank you.

I found access to enterprise from Crystal Reports itself. I guess I didn't notice this before. Thanks again!
