Hello guys,

The last month I have weird situation. My begining balance and Trx are the same in both A/R and G/L for that month, but my ending balance are diferent!

The ending balance in GL is grater than A/R. I thought that in G/L had a trx not booked in A/R but it does not.

Thanks in advance.

Are you running AR aging or open item report to tie to GL? Be sure you use the period end cutoff & do not check include items past aging date.

Well, actually I take the aging total amount from A/R and I see whether it is the same with the proper account in G/L.

Example:

A/R:
Total current 01-30 31-60 over 60
$100 $10 $30 $30 $30

G/L:
BegBal Debt Cred Net EndBal
100-2510-200 Customers $300 600 800 -200 100

The Total in A/R and EndBal in G/L should be the same but they are not.

Any idea?

I still don't understand what you are comparing.

You must be running the AR aging, using apply to number (I hope) and the period cutoff date, showing open items only or not & not showing items past aging date?

Are you posting from subledger or not? If you are, are you trying to match the actual GL balance or the AR distribution to GL?

Did you make sure that all transactions have the current year that are in the open item file? If they posted to another year, you would have a problem in GL.

Ok,

We always check that the end total between total amount from A/R & total amount of the customer account in G/L be the same, and they are until now.

And yes, we use the AR reporte by apply to number and we do not check any check box from that screen to this report at the end of the month.

Yes, we are posting from subledger ,and my debits and credits from there are the same in both AR & G/L.

Waht I did not check yet is the transactions date be the same in both tables.

Thanks a lot MacolaHelp, I will try that.

Ok: run your AR distribution to GL report for 01/01/90 to the end of the prior period (5/31/03). Don't show trx already interfaced. Then you can find prior transactions that may have gotten a bad date. Also run for 7/1/2003 through 12/31/2020 to see if you have future transactions creating a problem.

Also, check your GL account for any transactions that don't have a normal AR source or IP source or CR source. Maybe someone accidentally entered the wrong account in another module.

Ok, thanks.

I'l check that.
