I have a quick question. I have a PL800 that has dual 9GB hard drives running software RAID 1 in NT4. I have just freed up a SMART Array 3200 controller from another sever that was retired. If I was to connect the 9GB hard drives to the array controller would it be possible using the ACU to set up hardware mirroring? I am willing to guess the answer is no but I thought I would ask anyways.

Thanks,
Ben Thaw

Obviously you can create a harwdare RAID set with the 3200 but in this instance it would mean trashing the drives and starting again as the configuration of the RAID set is written to both the controller and the disk. Proably just as easy to backup any data and rebuild the server.

MrTickle is correct.

But personally I would swap the 3200 with a server that has a 2DH or similar. A 3200 in a PL800 is a bit of a waster unless that is the only type of card you have.
