We have two Sybase 12.0 servers, say ServerA and ServerB. Every morning, we take a dump of ServerA and load it to ServerB.

Will running DBCC on ServerB be sufficient enough to check the consistency of the databases of ServerA ? fyi - Both the servers are identical to each other in terms of size, configuration parameters, etc.

Thanks !!

If you have to run dbcc checks on one server only, you should try it on the primary server in this case "server A". Also note that there are occasions that dbcc checks are hardware dependent. For example the same dbcc checks on two different servers may detect a problem with a device on one server but not with the other one. Particularly error "605" can be associated with the device dependency. In summary you better off running dbcc on both servers. However, if you are loading the database from server A to server B and server A is the source of activity then you should run dbcc on server A at least
