Hi,

I am trying to upgrade to Crystal 10 from 8.5. The computer reads the CD for few minutes and I get a small window on the task bar that says "Check Version" I think. This window runs for hours and nothing happens. When I try to browse the CD, it freezes Windows Explorer. When I try to close windows explorer, the machine freezes and have to do a hard reboot.

Any idea on how to get this upgrade in?

Thanks a lot.

Hi, Is the CD the original one from the package or a working copy?

Sounds like you have a bad CD or a flighty system.

You also need to write the actual error.

A CD shouldn't freeze a system when simply browsing it, it might go away for a bit, but it should come back, so I'd guess you've evil gnomes at play within Windows.

A common problem on clients systems these days are web borne virii.

In general I suggest that everyone run SPYBOT's free Search and Destroy program, tends to clean up lots of problems.

Thanks everyone. The problem was in the CD drive itself. It could not read the CD's. The CD is an original. I used my CD RW and it worked.
