A question about passworded linked tables :)

Question 1)

I've got a backend dbase - where I've set Database security with password.

I linked the tables from this backend dbase into my frontend and it asked me for a password - which I entered and everything is now hunky dory.

However, every time I run the frontend it does NOT ask for the password for the backend - is this correct?

Question 2)

Not that I have set the database security password - if I write a program in VB6 - will it give me access to the data without the password?
