A port on a 3com unmanaged 24ports Switch not working

A client complained of not able to connect to the network and it was found out that one of the port on the 3com unmanaged switch not working.
The switch is almost 6years old and does it mean the entire switch would soon fail.

Not necessarily, I've seen ports fail on a few different switch models.
Often, more ports will fail later as well.

Check the fans are working and clear the chassis of dust.
