A name in a cell

Hi Experts,

In Excel sheet.
I hope we can type a fomula into B1, something like:
=A1.Name
so that Excell knows what we need is to treat the string in A1 as a Name and hence B1 will display the value of a cell that the Name refers to:)
 
Not sure I understand what you are trying to achieve. Why not just refer directly to the cell with the name in it, rather than use a thord cell to reference the one with the name??

Can you explain a little more what you are trying to do if I have misunderstood.
 
Sure, here is an example:

There are name1 and name2 in Names. There is a formula
= A1(Name)
in B1. When the user type name1*name2 in A1, I want B1 display the product of the values in the cells that name1 and name2 refer to.
