So.

I am the MIS department.

The reported problem - "My computer keeps shutting down".

I find that it keeps shutting down and the monitor shuts down in an of itself. And will not stay on.

The button on the icu does not work, so I have to keep using the plug in the back.

I open it up to check fan for power. It is ok.

I think perhaps it's the video card, and (don't have a swap)

I gave it new memory.

Plugged it up to a different monitor.

It came up - almost to the memory count and went down.

The new monitor won't stay on either.

Anyone have any ideas?

When did this start happening...was any hardware or software installed round the same time?
Is it booting now at all?
Put the old memory back in and see if it'll start in safe mode....
Have u run a full virus scan?
Have u ruled out all software possibilities?
