I was trying to continue my IT career but am at crossroads right now.
Let me tell you in few words about my experience.
Started in 95 to assemble computers, then got 3 exams towards MCSE,
worked as administrator for a design company ( 30 users on MS and mac environment) Did a little programing for some industrial machinery and automated a sign fabrication production line.
In 2000 got on board of a huge project of a transaction based infrastructure system that kept me busy for 4 years( hardware research software testing, system designs, etc. The project died months before start up because of funding. At that time I started my Master in information systems and abandoned at like 80% because I lost my job.
I got a job for a shipping company doing almost anything. Data center migration and relocation, fleet resource allocations based on the GPS inputs, ERP and basic administration for 30 mobile and local users.
Now I am looking for a change. I am willing to go back to school to finish my MS degree or change it to something else. To have an idea about few of the credits that I can convert I am listing few of them: Marketing and accounting for managers, Database systems, data communication and networking, project and change management, system analysis design and implementation and more.
on top of that I am proficient in any windows os and server systems mac, networking, and database admin, a bit of SAP and other stuff.
Now those are the questions.
1 Give me an idea of a field that that will accommodate my qualifications?
2 Any good online master programs that are not so expensive and will get me a good restart.
Any crazy idea is welcome.
My background is MS in oil refining but I have never worked as a chemical engineer so is like an abandoned track.
What online

Personal networking to find a niche that's waiting for you could help. An entry point to that would be to finish the MS in IS that you started, using the contacts and projects there to explore job possibilities. Check with SCORE and other business networking groups for small companies that need a broadly experienced IS person to take them to the next level. Keep us posted!
