Hi

Is it possible in InDesign CS2 to have a letter of text with 2 colours? I want to basically have an A4 page with 2 equal columns but a different block of colour, so for example Id have a column of black on the left and a column of white on the right.

Then I want to write a headline which stretches accross the page, overlapping the 2 columns, so obviously the headline can't be black on black or white on white, so it will be white on the balck and black on the white but I want to have a letter overlapping the 2 columns in the middle. Is there anyway I can get this letter half white and half black?

...you will need to make the headline as outlined text (type > create outlines), select the black box and the headline text (now a path), then use the pathfinder option 'exclude overlap) button forth from the left in the pathfinder palette...

...you may then need to send these objects to the back to reveal the white text column...

...like that one donna, very nice link, have a star!!

...without acrobat pro, it's a bit awkward with the extra plate, if your print provider can alias on the rip then your ok, if not then your a bit stuck...

...great tip nonetheless...
