What would you look for in selecting a PBX Vendor.
Looking for an NEC vendor to handle maintenance on my switch

might get a better answer in the nec forum, but you need to meet the SWITCHMAN that you will be working with, at least one of them.. his attitude and knowledge means way more then anything a contract or salesman might imply...

repair stock on hand, response time to an out of service, lead time for changes, if your looking for maint, live monitor of alarms, and a maint schedule, if you can't get a maint schedule, then you do not have maint, period..

those are the things i try to insure as a vendor, but as a switchman, i keep one customer very happy

if you are looking for stability, features, vendor that's been there since day 1 PBX was invented, i'd say go with Nortel.
not because of this is a forum for Nortel's products, but that's just for facts and for sure.
their support is excellent, no doubt.

i am certfied in nortel but it's been a while, 2400 img days. nec is a great switch, i made tons of ot trying to keep them running.. because of the format, anyone that did a change usually cost me 20 hours ot.. we did sell that line but i never did think they had the right level of dependablity
