I'm using Eudora 5.0.2 paid mode under Windows 98. Some how a few months ago, my incoming mail server settings got changed from "pop.compuserve.com" to "localhost". Everything worked fine however.

Now I get a "cannot find localhost" error and cannot retrieve my email. If I change it back to "pop.compuserve.com" it works, but then something resets it to "localhost".

Is this a function of Eudora or Windows and how can I prevent it from happening?

Thanks in advance

Are you running Norton Antivirus, the MailGuard component has a habit of doing this.

No, but I'm using Trenc Micro's PC-Cillin and also AdAware.
