I'm running 9.01 sp4a on a windows 2003 server, no problems untill recently, I've been getting the can't connect to database -2005 error, which leads me to belive I have a corrupt databse, I went to CA's site found the instuctions to run dbcheck and dbfix, now is the dumb question.

The instructions have a cmd line as follows

dbcheck -a -L casdb;admin;secret DBNAME

now when I enter the cmd line, I get back "could not connect to server casdb -10"

Question, is casdb, admin, secret the real cmds or should I be substituting in my settings, if so how do I find the server name? and which admin and secret should I use?

I tried the name of the server "Backup-1" no help same error message.

Thanks in advance for any help.[sadeyes]

you should replace the DBNAME with the db name want to repair. and the command is case-sensitive.

here's the exact command line excuted on my machine:
C:\Program Files\CA\BrightStor ARCserve Backup>dbcheck -a -L casdb;admin;secret ASJOB
