A document with the name ... Is Alredy open

"A document with the name xxx Is Alredy open. You cannot open two documents with the same name..."
I have a couple of users the get this error every time they open an office document, all the files are local. On one of the machines I did change the administrator account name, running Win 2k. The other is a WinXP home edition. In which I left the admin account alone.
Please help.

And it worked for me.

Start>Run>"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\excel.exe" /regserver

I'd tried Office service packs, Windows service packs.. nothing. But the above worked a treat
