I received the following message "A defective or damaged area was detected on the media" while trying to make an "HP Disaster Recovery CD". Please help.

Thanks!

Sorry but with the variety of HP and Legato products, do you
really expect an answer if you only provide this information?

Yes, I did expect an answer that would be professional and helpful not derrogatory. If an answer couldn't be given because not enough information was provided, then I could give more information that would be needed if requested.

Are you kidding ?! - Be fair and look at yourself !

I do not intend to blame anyone. On the other hand, what do you expect with this vague description? - As most software solutions NW is very complex and your statement does not
tell anything.

Unfortunately you are not alone. A lot of threads which i
looked into could be much easier to help if the opening
person would at least state the most simple facts like the
OS(es) that are involved and the NW version. This does not necessarily mean that your problem could be solved better,
but the better the info, the better the support can be -
or am i just asking for the impossible? - I am sure that
you are expecting the same from others you want to help.

-------------------------

Now, coming back to your statement:
- NW by itself does not know the term "Disaster Recovery
CD" and especially not the term "HP Disaster Recovery
CD".
(BTW - i am sure that an "HP Diaster" could not even be
prevented or solved by any storage mgmt. product that is
available on the market ;-)
- I know an additional Legato product "NetWorker Recovery
Manager" that could do such thing, but so far i (we) do
not even know whether you are talking about Windows
which is the only version of the HP OS range where this
could be used at all. We do not even know yet whether
this product is involved in the whole scenario.

But is this really MY task to remind you that the better the
description the better the support can potentially be? - How
many posts do you want to see until we get these fundamental
issues cleared?
