A datatype for Keys 1

Hello,
I am just wondering if there is a datatype I can use for keyboard values. (Like ESC or F3) I tried char but that didn't seem to work.
Anybody have any ideas?

I don't know what you are trying to accomplish, but Informix 4GL senses keys such as ESC and F3 within an INPUT statement with the ON KEY keywords:

INPUT BY NAME ....

ON KEY (F3)
.
.
ON KEY (ESC)
.
.
END INPUT
