Hi.

Fairly new to ASP.

I seem to remember in a previous post a method for getting the users login and/or machine name ? This'll be on an intranet.

Also, anyone out there have a template or example of a Request for Technical Assistance form ? We're starting a help desk, and my idea is to have the users fill out a form outlining their problem, which we'll capture on a SQL or Access back end. Questions with repetition will get added to FAQ, etc...

See
faq333-144

for how to get the NT Logon from the browser.

IMHO, the help desk application would be just like a message board, much like this one. The only difference would be the ablity to have real-time chat.

the form would be simple:
name
email
topic (chosen from drop down list)
message

then on the backend, you process those 4 fields, timestamp em, store them, then route to the appropriate mail box.

of course, this is a very VERY simple adaptation of your help desk, but these are just some ideas.
