Windows XP; HP Deskjet 722C - Am I facing the end of a long, trouble-free relationship with my 722C? Printing color results in only black and pink; new cartridge (tried 2 different ones); cleaned the cartridge per HP's Services tab; nada ... still only black and pink. Is there something else I should know about solving this? Many thanks.

I would take a slightly damp piece of paper towel and touch each cartridge to it. Do you get ink from each color?? If so, the ink is flowing out of the cartridge (not blocked or empty).

Then you have to look at the print head.

I wouldn't put too much effort or money into it. Much better/faster printers are available at this point.

hikermann - This is an older printer with a parallel port. Have you tried a new parallel cable ?
