Hi,

I've got a server running Solaris 2.6 which is quite definitely is a E420R, but when I run prtconf it says it is a U-80.

I presume the prtconf output is incorrect??

# prtconf | grep -i SUN
System Configuration: Sun Microsystems sun4u
SUNW,Ultra-80

cheers,
Andrew

Try this...
Code:
   /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/prtdiag -v
...and see what it says.

Hi SamBones,

This reports the correct architecture...

/usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/prtdiag -v | more
System Configuration: Sun Microsystems sun4u Sun Enterprise 420R (4 X UltraSPARC-II 450MHz)
System clock frequency: 113 MHz
Memory size: 4096 Megabytes

Many thanks!

cheers,
Andrew
