Hello, I recently purchased a Wingman Formula GP Steerring Wheel & Pedals to hopefully use with my Driving Games. I am just getting into the PC Games so excuse me if this question might be one that I coulda searched out on Google or somewhere.
OK...Question: This game device has a "male 15 pin connector" but my Dell XP System doesn't have any ports for that connector. This PC has several USB2.0 ports, a parallel connector port & a serial connector port that are open. Does anyone know of any adaptors that would let me convert this 15 pin connector into any of the ports I have but preferably a USB2.0 ports & let the device work accurately properly? Thank You

Serial > USB - Around $30.00 (USD)
9 pin > 15 pin serial adapter - about $5.00(USD)

The port you are looking for is the game port and is usually associated with a sound card.

franklin97355 is right, maybe the best option would be to fit a cheap PCI sound card that should have (check) this gaming port.

You need a game or it is sometimes referred to as a "midi" port. I agree with Paparazi above, but you might find a single PCI board with the necessary port. Search on Google for "midi" port.

they make adapters that connect via usb and you can plug the midi plug ino it.

RadioShack has a MIDI gameport-to-USB adaptor. It supports almost all types of gamepad and joystick. Note: It DOESN'T work for MIDI, meaning you can't use it to connect your synth to your computer (the original putpose of that port).

In the future, I recommend getting only USB controllers. For one thing, you can plug in more than one for multiplayer games. There's only one gameport per sound card.

I use a "PSX-to-USB" adaptor from RadioShack, which can plug most PlayStation or PlayStation 2 controllers/racing wheels/dance pads/etc. into a USB port. (No light guns; those rely on the refresh and resolution of a TV.) I got one when I noticed that PlayStation controllers tend to be cheaper than similar PC ones, and very few PC ones have force feedback; this adaptor fully supports DualShock.
