I was in the process of cleaning up my hard disk when I noticed this folder _Restore located in C:\ The folder is marked hidden and windows won't let me delete it, or mark it unhidden or anything. When I open it I only see 4 files but if I choose properties, I see there are thousands of files in it (they are probably hidden) which make the folder's size approximately 2.4 GB. How can I get rid of it? Is it a system folder which shouldn't be touched? Or is this a virus perhaps? Thanks for your assistance :)

P.S. My computer is running Windows Millenium

I believe that is the System Restore Files. I would suggest you read up in the help files about how to use it as it could be very useful for you.

Howdy:

It is your System Restore files.. To regain the space, simply disable System Restore and then re-enable it..
