I have an enormous amount of files on my C drive in a folder called C:/_RESTORE. I used to have Win ME on my Toshiba Satellite 2805-S603 laptop (OEM). I reformatted the hard drive and installed Win 2k and have been using it for a little over 2 years now with very few problems (most of which I cured using this web site). Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this folder is a throwback to Win ME and Win 2K does not use this folder. The Folder was last modified over 2 years ago and some of the files were created before I owned the laptop. If I delete this folder will I be causing a catastrophic problem on my laptop? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No, go ahead and delete. But you are probably mistaken about formatting that drive, it would have erased that folder. Odds are you popped in the Windows 2000 cd and did an upgrade.

Nevertheless, its safe to delete.

Yes, and this should give you basic info on the file...
