9i R2 Data Segment Compression

Hello,

Can anyone share your experience with 9i R2 Data Segment Compression? The Oracle docs tout it as:

A unique compression technique that is very attractive for large data warehouses, compressing data stored in relational tables with:
--> no negative impact on query time against that data
--> enabling substantial reduction of disk space
--> ensuring that compressed data is never larger than uncompressed data

I have a VLDB that this could be useful for but was wondering if there where any down sides?
