I downloaded 9i for Win2K client. I already have 8.1.7 on my Client box. When i try to double click 9i setup icon, nothing happens !!!!

Where am i going wrong ?....Please let me know if i need to change any settings....I want to have both 9i and 8i in two different home directories.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have both on a W2K system ( actually I have 3 including some 8.0 stuff) so it should work OK...Did you check your download to be sure everything came down..The size should be the same ( mostly) as the source location..Sometimes the D/Ls from technet fail and do not generate any error..

yeah...the download looks good to me ....

but as i said, when i unzip the file and click on setup icon, nothing happens...

any other ideas ?...which i can try

thanks

Hi ,
If the 8.1.7 installation worked ok, I assume you do not have a Pentium 4, so I am at a loss as to what the problem may be..Try a new D/L but, if the zip file size you have is correct , it would be a long shot..

Hi.
I had the same problem on Win2K.
It's still really a mistery for me why this happens.

I solved opening a DOS window, and running the installation from DOS.
Seems like the java program doesn't start from windows, only from DOS...
If somebody finds the answer please...

Good luck

thanks 'tigreeuropeo'..

finally it worked from DOS prompt....
