I have a 9i form that needs to be able to print a bar coded label to a printer attached to the client. When I make a HOST call, it trys to print to a printer attached to the server. I found some notes on Metalink that indicated that with java beans, this can be accomplished. My shop knows nothing about java. Can anyone give me an alternative solution or a step by step procedure to develope the java bean and impliment it with the form.

Metalink is your best bet I would say. You could always ask your specific question to the forums or create a TAR.
Any host commands, including HOST, TEXT_IO etc will be in the context of the server where your form is located and not of the local browser, hence a host print will print to the default server printer.
Getting java into forms is a bit of a tricky and long-winded process IMO.
