Hi,
I have a HP Pavillion that a user brought me that always goes into the choice screen to boot: normal, safe mode, step-by-step, etc. I have renamed auotoexec.bat and config.sys, thinking that it was something in there making it ask for a choice. I would appreciate any sugestions. Thanks

Alex

Also change attributes so you can save the changes to the file .Right click on file in Windows explorer and click tick off read only . If you cannot see file in windows explorer click on view then options and select show all files . Make sure you change this back to hide files when finished .

Could be one of two things.
1) Run Tweak UI (if it is installed double click icon in control panel). Click "BOOT" tab, if "Always show boot menu" is checked-un check it. Reboot see if this stops it.

2)Click>start>run type "msconfig" (without quotations"). Click "generla" tab>advanced> uncheck "enable start up menu". Once again reboot.

Hope this helps.
Regards
Paul
