I am in an environment where we have about 13 9611g sets which connect back to a remote Definity server (which does not have an HTTP server). The phones are on a VLAN which does not have DHCP enabled, so they are set with static values. The phones function fine.
We need these phones to boot with the value "SET FBONCASCREEN 1" so that we can get the split screen with both line appearances and feature button.
I set up an HTTP server on the VLAN, and put the 46xxsettings.txt file in the root folder. When I point a phone to the HTTP server, it seems to be only trying to grab 96x1Hupgrade.txt - which is not present, and it fails (it ends by displaying "HTTP 1 404"). When the phone fails to grab 96XHupgrade.txt, it then continues to boot normally thereafter. I tried changing the port on the server to 81 (based on some other threads about this), but it basically did the same thing (instead ending by displaying "HTTP 1 -1").
How do I get these phones to grab the 46xxsettings.txt file? I've tried other folder as well - a \phone folder and also an \avaya folder - neither work.
Any guidance is much appreciated!
